(System Software)
This is the App for Opendesktop with easy "Apply" functionality and content management features. It allows you to download, install and apply most themes like desktop themes, icon themes, wallpapers, or mouse cursors for various desktop environments using the "Install"-button instead of the "Download"-button. Currently supported are these desktop environments: KDE Plasma, Gnome, XFCE, Mate, Cinnamon, Budgie, LXQt, Elementary and Enlightenment. It should work on all distros like Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, Suse or Redhat and many more by using an AppImage file to install. # Installation with AppImageLauncher If you have never installed any AppImage before, please download this newly released tool to make any AppImage run and install easily on your Linux OS: https://www.opendesktop.org/p/1228228/ Please see if AppImageLauncher offers native packages for your distro, if not, you may just request it in the issue section. After installing AppImageLauncher tool above, you can simply download the Opendesktop AppImage and make it executable, then Double-Click on it. The AppImageLauncher will ask to Run or Install Opendesktop App on your computer. # Manual Installation To properly install the AppImage: 1. Download the package 2. Open a terminal 3. Go to the directory where the file has been downloaded 3. Execute the following commands by replacing *filename* with the actual downloaded filename: $ chmod +x *filename*.AppImage $ ./*filename*.AppImage --install Proper installation is recommended to register the app in the desktop menu and make it check for updates.
